To avoid unauthorized disassembly of public equipment, many brands adopt exclusive custom special-shaped security screws which cannot be disassembled by common commercial bits, protecting intellectual property and equipment safety. Many buyers submit incomplete drawings without key parameters, leading to mismatched first samples, repeated revision and extended project cycle. Clear drawing specification, advance mold right agreement and phased sample confirmation greatly improve customization efficiency.
| Custom Type | New Full Mold Required | Sample Lead Time | Mold Investment Cost | Mold Ownership Option | Applicable Projects |
| Existing standard security recess (pin TP, pentagon, tri-wing) | No new recess mold, only adjust head & length | 5~8 days for samples | Low, only tool adjustment cost | Shared public mold without exclusive right | General protection projects: commercial charging piles, monitoring enclosures |
| Original brand new special security recess | Full new heading, thread rolling and recess mold set | 14~22 days for samples | Relatively high, full mold set cost | Mold can be purchased exclusively under contract, manufacturer forbidden to supply third parties | Patented equipment, brand exclusive cabinets, high confidential outdoor facilities |
1. Basic dimensions: thread size, overall length, head diameter, head thickness, head shape; 2. Core anti-tamper structure: 2D drawing or physical sample reference of recess, recess depth, dimension tolerance of anti-pry pin; 3. Material requirement: carbon steel / SUS304 / SUS316, surface treatment and required salt spray hours; 4. Assembly performance: maximum allowable tightening torque, allowable reassembly or not; 5. Acceptance standard: appearance requirement, thread go-no-go gauge and dimension tolerance range.
1. Sample confirmation rule: Complete assembly test after first sample production. Mass production can only start after verifying anti-tamper effect and assembly matching; 2. Mold right agreement: Sign written contract for exclusive purchased molds to confirm confidentiality and ban of third-party supply; 3. Advance surface treatment confirmation: Stainless steel preferred for coastal outdoor equipment to avoid seizure caused by short-term carbon steel rust; 4. Supporting tool planning: Arrange special disassembly bits together with bulk orders to support official maintenance in later stage.
